Awakening the truth

COLUMNS

Former President Benigno Simeon Aquino Jr. approved the K-12 program on 2012. Based on his statement , K-12 will help Juan Dela Cruz, the Filipinos, to strengthen and develop their skills. However, on what I see nowadays, they still need to improve in promoting the said program. And there are also some problems that netizens keep on talking. And why is that? Let me tell you some reasons.

First, yes, maybe it will help the students. It will benefit them to be prepared for the courses that they may take up in college. But, with those two years of added schooling, it is a burden to parents in providing needs of the students instead of going exactly or going straight to college. Let’s just say that there are public schools who offer free schooling on which you will not pay for a tuition fee. But, even if you are in public schools, there are expenses that you really need to pay such as allowance, fare, foods, for doing projects or other expenses which sometimes you really need some financial help from your parents who works hard for you just to be on school.

Second, the resources that you need in implementing the program like books or equipment in experimenting or developing one’s life.

And lastly, the quality or the way of teaching of the teachers. The school who will implement the program should have a good teacher which will help the students, which will hone the abilities of the students. They should be the one guiding their students in the right way.

According to the reports, the graduates of the K-12 are still coping for some qualities that they should have. They may have the skills but they do not have the qualities or standards that some companies need. Even if they are graduates of Senior High School, works or opportunities will be still on the side of the higher degree.

If I would be an employer, and I need employees for my company, and there are applicants who are  Senior High School graduates and there are also Bachelor Degree graduates, who among I would choose? I would choose the one whom I think possesses  the qualities that I need. I will still choose the one who works for more than years, or the one who have finished and have more experience or knowledge in certain thing or work.
