Panitikan or Philippine Literature is the face of our identity. With younger Filipinos spending less and lesser time on reading and studying them, removing it from the General Education Curriculum (GEC) of tertiary education will tarnish our nationalism and love for our own language. With the threat of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to remove Filipino and Panitikan as core subjects in college following the implementation of K-12, the following generations will not be as appreciative and understanding of the culture

Ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ay nais na ipatupad ang 2013 memorandum na naglalayong tanggalin ang asignaturang Filipino at Panitikan sa kolehiyo. Ang lenguwahe ng isang bansa ay nagbibigay ng importansya sa katauhan at sa pagkaka-isa ng mga taong iba't-iba ang diyalekto, at ito ay ang mga Pilipino dahil may 7,100 na isla sa Pilipinas at 170 na diyalekto ang ginagamit. Habang ang mga Filipino naman bilang asignatura ay tinuturo sa primarya at sekondarya at kapag ito ay hindi nagpatuloy hanggang sa kolehiyo, maaari itong makalimutan ng mga taong hindi pamilyar o kaya hindi laging ginagamit ang ating pambansang wika. pambansang wika. see more...

CHRONICLE

Upon the establishment of the Special Program in Journalism, Blessedy M. Cervantes proposed a publication for the SPJ to Dr. Yolanda M. Gonzales in 2013. During the same school year, Dr. Cervantes led the publishing of the first-ever issue of the newsletter which served as the official publication of the SPJ. Since then, SPJ Chronicle has been producing its issue every school year. This school year 2018-2019, The SPJ Chronicle goes online.
